Statement from the KRG Ministry of Culture and Youth, General Directorate of Media and Publishing

The Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Ministry of Culture and Youth has not made any decision to shut down TV channels.

For the information of all concerned parties, the Ministry of Culture and Youth has licensed several companies to broadcast local channels and provide frequency services. We have instructed these broadcasting companies not to air any local channels without the proper licence.

If a channel has been suspended from a company's receiver, it is either not licensed or has never been licensed. Channels with valid licences and no legal issues should contact the General Directorate of Media and Publishing at the Ministry of Culture and Youth. This Directorate is responsible for addressing issues with broadcasting companies and resolving any problems.
