24-Hour Power to Return as Plant Units Restart
On Sunday, 30 November 2025, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Minister of Electricity Kamal Mohammad Salih visited the Kurdistan Region Electricity Control Centre to closely monitor progress on work and the normalisation of electricity supply.
He thanked the teams for preventing a widespread blackout over the past three days and urged them to make restoring electricity to citizens their top priority. He called for immediate coordination with the KRG Ministries of Natural Resources and Electricity, Dana Gas, and all production, transmission, and distribution stations. He also expressed his gratitude to the people of Kurdistan for their resilience against terrorist attacks and thanked the KRG Prime Minister, the Federal Government, and the Federal Ministry of Oil for their support.
In response to journalists, he affirmed that guaranteeing Dana Gas is a legitimate demand and stressed the necessity of providing air defence systems.
Furthermore, Minister Salih told several media outlets that the situation is expected to return to normal today, with power plant units restarting and 24-hour electricity supply fully restored.
