KRG Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs Meets Metropolitan Ghattas Hazim

On Tuesday, 18 February, 2025, Pshtiwan Sadiq, Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs (MERA) of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), along with Ano Jawhar, Minister of Transport and Communications, welcomed Metropolitan Ghattas Hazim, who oversees Baghdad, Kuwait, and Dependencies under the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch.

The discussions centred on the religious landscape in the Kurdistan Region and the deep-rooted spirit of coexistence among its diverse communities. The ministers highlighted MERA’s ongoing efforts to foster tolerance and interfaith harmony.

Both sides praised the commitment of religious leaders to their vital work, acknowledging their role in strengthening unity and reinforcing the Kurdistan Region’s reputation as a model of peaceful coexistence on the global stage.
