Kurdistan Regional Government Finance Minister meets with Turkish Consul General

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Awat Sheikh Janab, met with the Turkish Consul General to Erbil, Hakan Karaci, and his accompanying delegation in Erbil on Wednesday October 14, 2020.

The officials discussed the latest developments and events in the region, as well as possible increased cooperation between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region. The Minister noted that Turkey’s direct influence on the trade and economy of the Kurdistan Region makes it one of its most important trading partners.

He also highlighted that the Kurdistan Regional Government’s ambitious reform agenda includes efforts to pave the way for international companies and foreign investors to come to the Kurdistan Region. The Turkish Consul General welcomed the Kurdistan Regional Government’s efforts in this regard and emphasised the need to work together to attract more investments and projects to the Kurdistan Region.
