Ministry of Finance begin Draft 2021 Budget consultations
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV. KRD) - The Ministry of Finance and Economy has begun consultations with all ministries in the Kurdistan Region in preparation of the draft 2021 budget bill, as requested by the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Council of Ministers.
The Minister of Finance and Economy, Awat Janab Nuri, and his team held the first meeting with the Ministry of Natural Resources, to discuss the government’s priorities and identify opportunities in the new budget bill.
The Kurdistan Regional Government has affirmed the drafting of the budget bill will be an inclusive and consultative process, representative of the needs and priorities of all ministries and key stakeholders. The 2021 budget bill is also part of the government’s commitment to increase transparency as the Kurdistan Region’s public revenues, expenditures, including oil and gas, and financial entitlements will be included in the draft legislation.
