Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) and MyAccount meet following contract signing
Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) – The KRG’s MyAccount team met today with the Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI) for the first session after signing a contract last week.
The KRG and TBI formalized an agreement last week, officially marking TBI’s full integration into the MyAccount program. This agreement was the result of months of constructive negotiations between KRG and TBI representatives on the framework for salary domiciliation.
The contract is a significant step toward advancing the KRG’s mission to improve financial inclusion and accessibility for public sector employees across the Kurdistan Region. Among other things, the agreement includes the opening of two new TBI branches in Erbil and Slemani, as well as the expansion of the ATM network across the Kurdistan Region.
Similar to the other seven participating banks in the MyAccount initiative, TBI’s services will expand in the Kurdistan Region for KRG employees and beneficiaries registering through MyAccount. Following the agreement, the KRG expects to distribute 10,000 TBI debit cards as soon as possible.
We encourage KRG employees and beneficiaries who have not yet registered to contact MyAccount agents as soon as possible.
