KRG Higher Education Minister Highlights Over 500 Kurdistan Region Students Studying in Türkiye

On Tuesday, 17 June 2025, Aram Mohammad Qadir, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), welcomed Erman Topçu, the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in the Kurdistan Region.

Consul General Topçu expressed his satisfaction with the strengthening ties between universities, scientific institutions, and academic bodies in the Kurdistan Region and Türkiye. He voiced optimism that these discussions would pave the way for enhanced co-operation, particularly in academic staff exchanges and scholarship programmes.

Minister Qadir reciprocated this sentiment, emphasising his hope that the visit would catalyse deeper scientific and intellectual collaboration. He reaffirmed his support for the preparation and signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties to further consolidate and expand scientific relations.

Furthermore, Minister Qadir highlighted that the relationship between universities and scientific institutions in the Kurdistan Region and Türkiye continues to advance steadily.
