Kurdistan Region Officials in France to Advance Investigations and Anti-Trafficking Efforts
As part of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) strategy to combat human trafficking, a delegation from the Kurdistan Region visited France from 15 to 17 December 2025.
The delegation comprised Jiman Mohammed Ahmed from the Ministry of Justice; Judge Awat Haji, President of the Kirkuk–Garmiyan Criminal Court; and Judge Dana Mahmoud Hamdallah, Investigative Judge at the Sulaymaniyah Court /8. During the visit, the delegation toured several courts and public prosecution offices in Dunkirk and Coquille, and held meetings with a number of judges, judicial officials, and security authorities.
In coordination with officials from Coquille’s Border Police, the delegation also conducted an on-site inspection of the crime scene related to one of the cases.
The delegation provided clarifications to the French authorities concerning the involvement of certain Kurdish individuals residing abroad in these cases. They further reaffirmed that the KRG is taking serious and decisive measures to combat human trafficking and has implemented a range of significant legal actions in this regard.
