KRG Ministry of Justice Outlines Activities of the Legal Research Centre Since Inception

The Centre of Legal Research, established in 2020, is one of the directorates within the Ministry of Justice. The centre, led by Mohammed Sleman Ahmed, publishes an internationally peer-reviewed journal titled ‘The Social Contract’.

To date, the centre has published eight successive volumes, four special editions and 125 scholarly articles addressing legal matters relevant to both national and international contexts. It has organised five conferences and four roundtable discussions, issued 25 books on diverse legal subjects, translated two books into Kurdish, and released 22 legal booklets.

The centre intends to broaden its scope in several pivotal domains, including the establishment of the Institute of Comparative Law Studies, and a specialised centre for conciliation, mediation and arbitration within the Ministry of Justice.

The Legal Research Centre publishes in Kurdish, Arabic, and English, cultivating a message of tranquillity and advancing legal concord across the globe.
