UNDP and Judicial Institute Explore Areas of Cooperation

On Wednesday, 17 September 2025, Mr. Yama Turabi, representing the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), visited the Kurdistan Region Judicial Institute, where he was received by Judge Othman Yaseen Ali, Director General of the Institute.

The meeting focused on the role and mandate of the Judicial Institute and explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation with the UNDP. Both sides underlined the importance of joint efforts to deliver a series of capacity-building workshops on key judicial topics, including cybercrime, artificial intelligence, environmental challenges and their legal implications, and international trade arbitration.

Mr. Turabi reaffirmed the UNDP’s commitment to supporting the Judicial Institute and expressed the organisation’s readiness to strengthen collaboration in advancing judicial capacity and professional development.
