In 2022, 530 projects were implemented in Kurdistan
Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD)- Last year, on the revenue budget of Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism (28,520,592,718) dinars has been spent for Erbil, Sulaimani, Duhok, Halabja, Garmian, Raperin, Soran and Zakho provinces. 530 projects have been implemented in the municipal, water, sewerage and tourism sectors. 235 projects have been implemented in the municipal sector, 277 projects in the water and sewerage sector and 18 projects in the tourism sector.
In addition to the 531 projects that have been implemented on the revenues of Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, there are some other projects have been implemented and completed in all provinces and autonomous administrations.
Sasan Auni: “On the continuous recommendations and instructions of Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to all ministries of the Kurdistan Regional Government on the organization of domestic revenues, the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism, organized our domestic revenues for 2022 and our goal was to increase our revenues by 35% compared to the revenues of 2021, but as of December 22, 2022, the revenue of all offices of the Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism was 306 billion and 250 million dinars. Which was increased by 55% compared to 2021".
Sasan Auni mentioned that they can benefit from the revenue in two ways, that 15% of the revenue in each municipality in each general directorate will be used to provide services to the same city and town and 17% of the revenue will be used for water and sewerage service projects across all Kurdistan.
