Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism Invested IQD 422 Billion in Erbil and Duhok Development Projects during 2024

According to a report from Erbil Municipality Directorate, 121 projects were implemented in Erbil city centre during 2024, with a total investment of IQD 74 billion. While some of these projects have been completed, others are still ongoing.

Key initiatives include road repairs, improvement in waste management, and the expansion of green spaces. Notably, 91,831 trees and 54,859 flowers were planted last year, contributing to a 20.15% increase in the city’s green spaces.

A total of 139 projects were initiated in Duhok city centre during 2024, reflecting significant development efforts in the city. Of these, 71 projects have been successfully completed, requiring a total investment of IQD 164 billion. Additionally, an estimated IQD 184 billion has been allocated for the projects still underway, reflecting a substantial commitment to improving infrastructure and services in the city.
