KRG Funds Archaeological Survey in Garmian District

The Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Municipalities and Tourism has approved funding for a new archaeological survey in the Garmian District.

The project, led by the General Directorate of Antiquities and Heritage, will focus on surveying around 20 villages in the Rzgari Subdistrict.

The KRG continues to prioritise the preservation of cultural heritage, working in partnership with both local and international universities to support the discovery, documentation, and restoration of archaeological sites across the Kurdistan Region.
