Peshmerga Chief of Staff Meets with Commander of the Coalition Forces in the Kurdistan Region

On Monday 30th October 2023, Staff Lieutenant General Issa Ozer, Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Peshmerga, welcomed Colonel Mike Gachero, senior military advisor at the US Consulate in Erbil, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed the cooperation and coordination of the coalition forces with the Peshmerga forces, in terms of training, logistics and advisory roles.

They also discussed the progress made at the Ministry of Peshmerga with the unification and reorganisation of Peshmerga forces. Both sides emphasised the importance of accelerating the process of reforming the Ministry of Peshmerga.

For his part, the Commander of the Coalition Forces in the Kurdistan Region expressed his support for implementing the process.
