Electronic Food Ration Card System Launched in the Kurdistan Region

On Tuesday, 3 June 2025, a press conference marked the official launch of an electronic food ration card system for the Kurdistan Region.

Nawzad Sheikh Kamil, Director General of Trade at the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Ministry of Trade and Industry noted that the electronic forms have been operating on a trial basis for the past several days. During this period, approximately 80,000 residents in Slemani, 73,000 in Erbil, 67,000 in Halabja, and 40,000 in Duhok have successfully completed the registration process.
