Minister Safeen Dizayee Meets Belgium’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and of Defence, Philippe Goffin

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (DFR.GOV.KRD) – Minister Safeen Dizayee, Head of the KRG Department of Foreign Relations had a fruitful meeting on 4th February with a high level Belgian government delegation headed by H.E. Philippe Goffin, Belgium's Minister of Foreign Affairs and of Defense during their official one day visit to Erbil, Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, Minister Dizayee and H.E. Goffin discussed the current political, security and humanitarian situation and developments in the country and wider Middle East region and enhancing Kurdistan Region and Belgium bilateral relations and cooperation including strengthening commercial ties on mutual interest.

Minister Dizayee expressed gratitude and appreciation to Belgium for supporting the Kurdistan Region as part of the international coalition against ISIS and stressed the need for continued international community support to counter terrorism.

After the meeting, Minister Dizayee bids farewell to the Belgian delegation at the Erbil International airport.

Kurdistan will continue to work towards strengthening international relations with current and new bilateral partners.
