KRG Representative in Poland holds meetings with Polish diplomats and entrepreneurs at Diplomeeting conference

Poland (GOV.KRD) - KRG Representative in Poland Ziyad Raoof on January 28, attended “Diplomeeting”. This is an annual event with presence of the Polish state-authorities and foreign diplomats, organized by Polish Chamber of Commerce. This year, due to the pandemic restrictions, the event was held through an online video conference.

In the first part of the conference guests were welcomed by Andrzej Arendarski- head of Polish Chamber of Commerce, later speeches were given by Jarosław Gowin, Polish deputy prime minister and minister of development, Paweł Jabłoński, deputy minister of foreign affairs, and Paweł Borys, the head of Polish Development Fund.

The second part of the event consisted of meetings between diplomats and Polish entrepreneurs. Ziyad Raoof had a series of online talks with representatives of Polish companies from various sectors interested in investments, exporting products to the Kurdistan Region and the entire Iraq, also providing services on the local market. The large number of entrepreneurs who met with the KRG representative proves that despite the pandemic, the interest of Polish companies in expanding into Kurdistan Region is not diminishing.

In 2019, Polish Chamber of Commerce signed cooperation agreement with the Kurdistan Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KFCCI). Lest year, the “Diplomeeting” was attended by KRG delegation headed by minister of agriculture Begard Talabani and head of KRG Board of Investment, dr Mohammed Shukri.
