Minister Safeen Dizayee receives Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation delegation
Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Head of the KRG’s Department of Foreign Relations, Safeen Dizayee on Wednesday met with a delegation from the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation led by the Italian Consul in Erbil, Michele Camerota.
The delegation composed of Emilio Cabasino, director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Amman, Monica Pisu, Coordinator for Development Initiatives in Iraq, Laura Cicinelli, Humanitarian Assistance Programme.
Both sides discussed the bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Italy, and ways to further strengthen the mutual cooperation and friendship between both sides. They also touched on humanitarian situation and the plight of new IDPs from Sinjar. Minister Dizayee stressed the importance of better support for host communities, Refugees and internally displaced persons (IDP) for a stable life and safe return to their homes.
The Italian delegation presented a brief of their works and activities and expressed their delight for the opportunity to work in the Kurdistan Region in fields of health, education and preservation of cultural heritage to enriching the existing ties between the Kurdistan Region and Italy. In return, Minister Dizayee thanked Italy for its continuous cooperation and support to the Kurdistan Region.
They also discussed the current issues in the region, as well as the political and security situation in Iraq and the region.
