The Department of Information Technology (DIT) Enhances Government Employees' Digital Capabilities through a Training of Trainers programme
In an effort to enhance the digital capabilities of government employees and promote efficient collaboration, the Department of Information Technology (DIT) of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has undertaken the initiative to offer a specialised Training of Trainers (TOT) programme on a diverse range of crucial programmes and fundamental subjects.
As part of the DIT's overarching capacity-building programmes, the training programme provided insight into the comprehensive utilisation of office productivity applications, covering the most essential tools. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in interactive sessions, each lasting three hours.
This training addresses the growing importance of digital skills in the public sector. As a result, this initiative initially targets employees of ministries, including the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs (MOPA), the Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs (MOER), and the Kurdistan Region Statistics Office (KRSO), with plans to expand to more government ministries, departments, and other entities in the near future.
As government operations increasingly rely on digital tools for efficiency and effectiveness, empowering employees with proficiency in modern digital tools becomes paramount. The training programme underscores the critical need for government employees to be proficient in modern office productivity tools and technologies. These digital tools are widely used for document management, collaboration, scheduling, and data analysis. Proficiency in these tools will streamline government work processes and enable employees to work more cohesively, regardless of their physical location.
