The Department of Information Technology Concludes DIT Summer Internship Program 2025

Erbil, Kurdistan Region (GOV.KRD) — The Department of Information Technology (DIT) has successfully delivered the DIT Summer Internship Program 2025, an initiative aimed at fostering youth capacity, career development, and firsthand exposure to technology work in the public sector. This internship program reflects DIT’s commitment to supporting the next generation of professionals and strengthening academic and industry collaboration.
This year’s structured program brought together eighteen students from universities across the region. Spanning eight weeks, from July to August, the program combined classes, assignments, mentorship, and presentations to give interns both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Through this approach, they explored topics in digital transformation, gained exposure to the department’s day-to-day functions, and learned about the software development cycle. The program also introduced them to the structure of well-established technology organizations, helping them build confidence, strengthen their professional skills, and better prepare for future careers.
The program concluded with a closing ceremony attended by the Head of Department, various team leaders, mentors who had guided the interns throughout the program as well as their university supervisors. The event was held in a casual and supportive atmosphere, where the Head of the Department addressed the interns, offering his congratulations and highlighting the mission DIT has always carried. To mark the occasion, interns received certificates of completion and tokens of appreciation in recognition of their dedication and effort.
DIT views this program as an investment in future talent and potential academic partnerships. Building on the success of this year, we are committed to expanding and further developing the internship program in the coming years to provide even more opportunities for students to learn, grow, and contribute to the region’s digital future.
