KRG statement on Belarus migrant crisis

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - In recent weeks, a group of people from Kurdistan Region became victims of smuggling for the sake of personal gain.

Consequently some political sides have taken advantage and defamed the KRG. Nevertheless, it is clear that all of this was baseless propaganda.

The KRG has made every effort to assist voluntary repatriation of those stuck on the Belarus-Poland border and considers it a duty to facilitate their return.

The government thanks the Iraqi foreign ministry and all other involved parties for helping to repatriate those migrants who voluntarily want to return.
