New directives by KRG to curb COVID-19 pandemic

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) - The Kurdistan Region’s High Committee for Combatting COVID-19 has issued the following directives as part of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s efforts to curb the spread of the pandemic in the region:
1- A stop to all travel between the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi provinces.
2- A travel exception will be given to the following people traveling between the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi provinces if they present valid PCR test results at relevant checkpoints:
- Employees from United Nations bodies and agencies, international organizations, the coalition forces, diplomats, and formal delegations;
- Kurdistan Region residents;
- Patients who are in urgent need of medical care in the Kurdistan Region;
- Businessmen and investors.
3- Trade between the Kurdistan Region and Iraqi provinces will continue with strict health measures enforced at checkpoints.
4- This decree is to be enacted from the day it is released and shall be published in the Kurdistan Magazine.
