KRG Advocacy Coordinator Holds Parliamentary Meetings in Brussels

On 9 and 11 December 2025, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Coordinator for International Advocacy, Dindar Zebari, held separate meetings in Brussels with Members of the European Parliament Leoluca Orlando and Özlem Demirel. The meetings were attended by the KRG Representative to the European Union, Delavar Ajgeiy.

Discussions focused on political engagement between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the European Parliament, with particular attention to governance, human rights, and regional stability.

Zebari provided an overview of developments in the Kurdistan Region, including its experience with support for refugees and internally displaced persons, and contributions to counterterrorism efforts.

He also referred to legislative and institutional reforms related to human rights, including protections for women, journalists, and religious and ethnic communities, as well as progress in transitional justice and support for Yezidi survivors of ISIS crimes.

The meetings further addressed the security environment affecting the Kurdistan Region, including humanitarian challenges in areas such as Sinjar, cross-border threats and regional tensions.

The meetings underscored the importance of continued parliamentary dialogue and engagement in supporting stability, human rights, and peaceful approaches to ongoing regional challenges.
