KRG Coordinator for International Advocacy Meets Consul General of Jordan

On Monday, 3 March, 2025, Dindar Zebari, Coordinator for the Office of International Advocacy (OCIA) of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), met with Fuad Al Majali, Consul General of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting focused on the recent Universal Periodic Review (UPR) conducted by the United Nations in Geneva, the OCIA’s role in implementing the KRG's Human Rights Plan (2021 – 2025), and Jordan’s UPR recommendations for Iraq. Additionally, they discussed organising training programmes and roundtables on key human rights issues for stakeholders in the Kurdistan Region on human trafficking and cybercrimes.
Consul General Al Majali acknowledged that, despite numerous challenges, significant progress has been made in advancing human rights in the Region. Key achievements include fostering a peaceful environment, expanding job opportunities for refugees and internally displaced persons, promoting interethnic and interfaith harmony, safeguarding freedom of expression, and enhancing transparency in the electoral process.
