KRG Urges International Community to Fulfil its Obligations Regarding Missing Persons

On Tuesday, 27 May 2025, a delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) took part in the Regional Experts Meeting on Missing Persons in the Middle East and North Africa, held in Baghdad.

Representing the KRG, Mr Dindar Zebari, the Coordinator for International Advocacy, delivered a speech reaffirming the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to uncovering the fate of missing persons and pursuing accountability for acts of enforced disappearance.

In his address, Zebari also drew attention to the KRG's continuing efforts to relocate and rescue victims abducted by the so-called Islamic State terrorist organisation, underscoring the importance of international cooperation in addressing the legacy of mass atrocities and providing justice for survivors and families of the disappeared.
