KRG and UK Consul General Discuss Human Rights and Governance Reforms

On Thursday, 11 September 2025, in Erbil, Dindar Zebari, Coordinator of the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Office of International Advocacy, met with Andrew Bizley, the United Kingdom’s Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.

The meeting focused on the KRG’s Human Rights Plan (2021 - 2025). The report highlights the practical measures taken by the KRG to implement international recommendations and advance human rights standards.

Discussions also addressed broader issues of mutual concern, including the promotion of press freedom, initiatives to combat corruption and drug trafficking, and the protection of public and religious rights.
