KRG and UNDP Discuss Private Sector Role and Resource Management

On Monday, 15 September 2025, Dindar Zebari, Coordinator of the Office of International Advocacy, met with Titon Mitra, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq.

During the meeting, Zebari underlined the importance of the private sector in supporting the Kurdistan Region’s reconstruction and sustainable development. He noted its role in generating employment, strengthening agriculture and industry, and complementing government and UNDP efforts to expand essential services such as access to clean water.

Mitra emphasised that current discussions with the KRG would focus on water and resource management. He acknowledged the KRG’s considerable achievements in this area, including the construction of dams and ponds, which have boosted tourism and improved the provision of clean water for citizens.
