KRG Advocacy Coordinator Meets UAE Consul General

On Sunday, 11 January 2026, Dinar Zebari, the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Coordinator for International Advocacy, met with Ahmed Hassan Al-Shehi, Consul General of the United Arab Emirates to the Kurdistan Region.

The meeting focused on the Kurdistan Regional Government’s international advocacy priorities, including the implementation of international agreements, the promotion of justice and the rule of law, and efforts to combat terrorism and narcotics. It also addressed the protection of the rights of religious and ethnic communities and the Kurdistan Region’s role in supporting Iraq’s engagement with international institutions. Consul General Al-Shehi commended the Region’s commitment to peaceful coexistence despite ongoing political and security challenges.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to enhance coordination in the areas of sustainable development, institutional capacity building, disability rights protection, and joint training initiatives aligned with international standards.
